For it is in giving that we receive- St.Francis of Assisi
Being a volunteer is such an important responsibility, because you are literally in the job of saving lives. However, what makes it beautiful is that anyone can volunteer, especially you.
Getting children to school is an investment for the entire world. But in countries where poverty, natural and man-made disasters threaten a child’s family and community support structures, their education is rarely a priority.
With mounting evidence that increased investment in children under the age of 8 years results in a better educated, peaceful and more prosperous citizenry, it’s a wonder why more attention is not focused on them.
If we really believe and hope for a better world, then this is the time to act. Making sure every child and young person has the best chance in life is something we should all get behind.
It is no surprise that the average widow in the developing world has things very difficult. They are usually:
– prevented from inheriting their rightful assets
– suffer all sorts of discrimination, stigmatized, and often left to the mercy of others
We aim to change this, by providing a support structure for 10,000 widows by 2030. We are beginning by providing them with some basic provisions to survive.
After which, we will empower them with resources, and the skills to start and grow self sustaining businesses.
The average widow in the rural areas has 4 dependents. With just $100, they can purchase enough provisions to last a month.
